I Have A Cutblock:
  • Use this tab when you have a cutblock and you are searching for a seed source
  • Species: Select the tree species of interest (currently available for Fd, Lw, Pl, Py and Sx).
  • BEC Variant: Select the BEC variant for your cutblock location.
  • Go: refreshes the map and tables according to the selections.
I Have A Seedlot:
  • Use this tab when you:
    • have a seedlot and want to know the appropriate BEC variants where it can be used
    • are collecting from a particular BEC variant and wants to know where it could be deployed.
  • Seedlot Number: if you know the seedlot and want to know where it can be used enter the seedlot number then select the Set Species BEC button to set the species and BEC variant values for you. Otherwise leave blank.
  • Seedlot data refreshed July 09, 2024. Seedlots that have been registered on SPAR after July 09, 2024 are not included in the tool
  • Some B Class seedlots are not yet included in the tool (pending their assignment of a BEC 10 BECvariant).

  • Go: refreshes the map and tables according to the selections.
Map:
  • Pan: shift across the map by clicking and dragging on the map
  • Change map scale: Click the +/- buttons or "zoom" by holding the shift key down while clicking and dragging a box shape within the map.
  • Switch Basemap: Select from several options of base maps. Click the window bar to reduce the window.
  • Identify: click on a themed/selected polygon to launch a dialogue box that shows the starting and selected BEC units.
Tables:
  • Sort: clicking a heading will sort the table by that heading, clicking again will change the sort direction
